Panaji (Goa) Panaji  Block congress has resolved to fight for minimum 10hrs of water supply to capital city and to take unemployment problems of Panjim youth. This was decided at Panjim Block Congress Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of All India Congress Committee Secretary Girish Chodankar  at Panaji.

 

Meeting discussed the water problem at length  and decided to support peoples fight forward  with emphasis on providing Water supply of minimum 10hrs to all Panaji residents which is a basic necessity.

Margao (Goa) In a rare gesture that can make Goa proud, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted the essay written by Ravisha Kudchadkar from Fatima Convent High School, Margao.

The essay is on Swach Bharat and the ninth standard girl has given several suggestions in her two page essay which was sent to Delhi as a part of PM’s birthday celebrations.

GOA: 42 PASSENGERS ON CRUISE SHIP HAD MIRACULOUS ESCAPE

Porvorim (Goa)  All the 42 passengers on board a passenger cruise vessel were rescued after the ship brushed against the Casino vessel which was anchored in River Mandovi near here.

 

The incident happened at around 6.30 pm. when state tourism department recognized cruise vessel was ferrying the passengers in River Mandovi. The cruise vessel was carrying 42 tourists on it.

 

“The cruise vessel developed a technical snag and got drifted in the water  dashing against the casino vessel which was anchored,” a police official said.

 

Marine Police were rushed to the spot who used ladder to shift the passengers from cruise ship…

EDC TO SET UP INCUBATION CENTRE TO GROOM ENTREPRENEURS

Panaji (GOA) After recording historic profit of Rs 61 crore for the financial year 2016-17, the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has proposed to set up an incubation centre this year, to groom youngsters and create entrepreneurs.

Addressing reporters after the Board meeting, EDC chairman Siddharat Kuncolienkar said that to keep up with the modern world and growing technology, EDC has decided to set up incubation centre of 40-45 seater to groom youngsters.

“Startup is picking up in Goa and we have to encourage it,” he said.

EDC has recently trained 600 youngsters to help businessmen in GST compliance.

TENDER FOR FIRST-PHASE OF MINING CORRIDOR IN OCTOBER, GSIDC

Panaji (GOA) The much delayed dedicated mining corridors project, for ferrying the iron ore from the leases to the jetties bypassing the village areas, is all set to take shape.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has given green signal to the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) for going ahead with the project in phase manner.

As such, the corporation has decided to tender the first phase of the project- between Uguem and Guddemol, having a stretch of around 8.9km, by October end.

GOA: PARRIKAR ASKS MLAS TO DESIST FROM MAKING STATEMENT AGAINST POLICE IN DRUG NEXUS

Panaji (Goa) Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in a letter written to all the legislators has asked them to desist from making statements which are demoralizing the police force.
