FINALLY! IRON ORE TRANSPORTATION TO COMMENCE FROM TOMORROW
Panaji (Goa) After much logjam with the State government and mining companies, the truck operators have finally agreed to commence the transportation of iron ore from the Codli mine of Sesa Goa Vedanta from tomorrow.
The transportation will commence on both the routes of Codli to Capxem and Codli to Amona, which was suspended on November 13 following agitation and stone pelting by the truckers.

FIRST COCHLEAR IMPLANT SURGERIES ON THREE KIDS AT GMC ON SATURDAY
Panaji (Goa) The first batch of three kids would undergo cochlear implant surgeries at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) on Saturday, under the special MOU signed with the Central government.
GMC in June had signed MOU with the Central government over the cochlear implant to the children suffering from a hearing disability.

GOVT GIVES FINAL WARNING TO AGITATING PARA TEACHERS
Panaji (Goa) The State government today made it clear that the contracts of para teachers, who are currently agitating over regularization of their service, will stand withdrawn from, if they fail to join the duty by Saturday.
Government has assured that the para teachers will be regularized in their service from the next academic year 2018-19.
“All those para teachers who are joining on or before 25.11.2017 will continue to remain in the service on contract as per their offer letter. MOPA AIRPORT NOW UNDER PDA
Panaji (Goa) The proposed Greenfield International Airport at Mopa will be now part of planning and development authority.
The town and country planning board has recommended formation of Mopa PDA, in a bid to fast track the work of the second international airport, which is being built by GMR Airport.
Total 81.29 lakh sq mtrs of area will be brought under planning.
The GMR airport has already commenced the work of the airport at the site and the international airport is expected to be ready for its first flight by mid-2020.READ more..
कोल्हापुर में बस में लगी भीषण आग, दो यात्रियों की मौत
कोल्हापुर – महाराष्ट्र के कोल्हापुर में एक बस में अचानक आग लग गई, इस दुर्घटना में दो यात्रियों की आग में जलकर मौत हो गई. यह आत्माराम ट्रैवल्स की बस थी, जो गोवा से कोल्हापुर-पुणे मार्ग मुंबई जा रही थी. प्राप्त जानकारी के अनुसार गगनबावडा मार्ग पर लोंघे गांव की सीमा में करीब सुबह 4.30 बजे के करीब यह घटना घटी. एसी में तकनीकी खराबी के कारण बस में भीषण आग लग गई थी और कुछ ही मिनट में बस पूर्ण रुप से जलकर खाक हो गई.

Panaji (Goa) The Local bodies like panchayats and municipalities will now conduct Social Audits of the fair price shops in their areas in order to ensure transparency in the implementation of Public Distribution System (PDS) and proper functioning of fair price shops.
All the records of the fair price shops will be made available to the general public through social audit.

GMC LIKELY TO CHARGE OUTSTATION PATIENTS 20% OF THE RATE UNDER DDSSY; COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS
Panaji (Goa) The committee headed by joint secretary health Sunil Masurkar in its report to the State government has recommended that non-Goan patients be charged 20 percent of the rate applicable for intervention under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojna (DDSSY) for availing medical services at Goa medical College and Hospital (GMC).
From December 1, it is most likely that GMC will charge outstation patients for availing services. However, the fees will not be levied in case of emergencies.
