Old Goa: The Church is contemplating the possibility of making one of state’s most revered festival celebrating St Francis Xavier to be made eco-friendly banning the use of plastic or bio-degradable material during the event to be held on December 4.
The feast of St Francis Xavier at Old Goa, where his relics are preserved, would be held on December 4 while Novenas will begin from November 25 onwards which would be participated by thousands of pilgrims.

GOA: MAHILA CONGRESS MEETS CM; SEEK SUPPORT FOR PASSING OF WOMMEN RESERVATION BILL

GOA: COURT GRANTS INTERIM ANTICIPATORY BAIL TO DIGAMBAR KAMAT
Panaji (Goa): In a major relief, special court today granted interim anticipatory bail to former chief minister Digambar Kamat who is facing investigation by Crime Branch’s Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Judge Irshad Agha while granting interim anticipatory bail fixed the next hearing of the case on November 27. Kamat has been summoned by Crime branch to appear before them tomorrow, November 21.

GOA: GEL TO IDENTIFY BOGUS BENEFICIARIES OF SOCIAL WELFARE SCHEMES
PANAJI (GOA): The State government has decided to appoint Goa Electronic Limited (GEL) to conduct survey of the beneficiaries of various social welfare schemes implemented by it.
Dayanand Social Security scheme (DSS) is being implemented by social welfare department since 2002 and Laadli Laxmi and Griha Aadhaar by women and child development department from 2013.
The decision to survey the beneficiaries was basically to identify the bogus beneficiaries. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had made the announcement on the floor of the House to review all the social welfare schemes.
