Panaji (Goa) Chief Minsiter Manohar Parrikar retained his Panaji constituency by defeating Congress candidate Girish Chodankar with a margin of 4,803 votes.
After the final tally, Parrikar polled 9862 votes while Chodankar got 5059 votes. Goa Suraksha Manch candidate Anand shirodkar got 220 votes while Independent candidate got 96 votes while 301 people pressed on NOTA button.READ more..
GOA: VISHWAJIT LEADING BY 6,000 VOTES IN VALPOI
Panaji (Goa) BJP candidate Vishwajit Rane was leading by 6,000 votes after the second round which is a decisive lead for him to win the seat.

GOA: BJP MARCHING TOWARDS VICTORY ON BOTH THE SEATS?
Panaji (Goa) The initial trends were clear that both the BJP candidates were marching towards victory in Panaji and Valpoi constituencies.
Manohar Parrikar had gained lead of around 4,200 votes after the two rounds while Vishwajit Rane was leading by 3,000 votes. Not a single time, their rival overtook them during the counting.
What is significant is that Goa Suraksha Manch which was supposed to make an impact in Panaji constituency is nowhere even as NOTA votes were more than that polled by its candidate Anand Shirodkar.

THE STAGE IS SET FOR COUNTING
Panaji (Goa) The stage is set for the counting with the people starting to gather outside the counting station at ESG in Panaji.
Congress’ Panaji candidate Girish Chodankar was the first candidate to arrive at the counting station. Strong presence of policemen were kept, one kilometers around the centre.
The counting of both the constituencies would be taken simultenously but the results of Panaji are expected to be announced first as it has less voters compared to Valpoi. This means fate of chief minister Manohar Parrikar would be known first.
