Parrikar led govt is unholy bundle of contradictions: AAP
The recent divergent statements made by cabinet ministers proves that the Manohar Parrikar coalition government is an unholy bundle of contradictions, only bothered to hold on to power for corrupt designs.
AAP State Convenor Elvis Gomes said, the coalition partners and BJP are at loggerheads even on issues directly affecting the day-to-day lives of the Goan people such as beef ban, drugs and late night parties and the migrant Lamanis. This is creating confusion in the ranks of the bureaucracy and adversely affecting governance delivery to the people.

We have taken a tough decision, we will stand by it: Rohan Khaunte
Q. You were a Congress backed candidate, how did you come to be in a BJP government?
I was not a Congress backed candidate. There was no Congress leader who came for my campaign in the constituency. They had extended support and we had welcomed it. But priorities then were different. When your house is not in order you can’t stay in it. This is the case with the Congress. You have to take a wise decision keeping in mind the wishes of people from your constituency. In the last five years I was in the opposition and have…READ more..
I am open for all options including fighting on BJP ticket: Vishwajit Rane
Q. What is the reason behind you suddenly quitting the party?
I was not interested in continuing with such a party which is full of people who had made mockery of the mandate given by people to us. It took so much time for the party to decide just the Congress Legislature party leader. Digvijaya Singh who had come from Delhi was just passing time. We lost an opportunity to form the government. I didn’t want my constituency to suffer by sitting in the Opposition.
Q. You have been openly blaming Digvijaya Singh.
True. He is responsible for all the…READ more..
Vijai Sardesai has ditched the people of Goa by going against the mandate: Girish Sardesai
TNV Spoke to Girish Chodankar, the General Secretary of the GPCC, to know his view on the series of political events in the state post poll results.
- What went wrong between Congress and Goa Forward?
Everyone in the Congress wanted this alliance to happen. This is because the ideologies of both the parties were identical. Though we were 17 and including Rohan we were 18, we waited for the Goa Forward MLAs. This is just because, there was a strong view within the party to make an alliance with them. The whole…READ more..
We want to see commitment of BJP towards Goa: Vijai Sardesai
Q: How do you justify your decision to go against your earlier stand which was anti-BJP?
Goa Forward got the mandate because of its slogan which was about Goenkarponn. We did not want to waste this mandate. And we wanted to take forward our agenda with this mandate. We needed to support a stable government. Congress is overloaded with grandfathers who are overambitious and who are former chief ministers and wanted to become the next Chief Minister. Congress could not give stability to Goa. If we want to take this agenda…READ more..
DIAGNOSING PHENOMENON CALLED MANOHAR PARRIKAR
This is the fourth time that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formed the government in Goa and it’s no surprise that all the stints were under Manohar Parrikar – who has proved himself to be the saffron party’s best bet in this small state. Except in 2012, when it got a clear mandate of 21 assembly seats excluding the alliance seats in the House of 40, on all the other three occasions it was Manohar ‘bhai’ who did the party proud with his astute skills of machination. And the…READ more..
