PUNE POLICE ARRESTS TWO ACCUSED EXTERNED FROM THE CITY, WEAPONS RECOVERED
Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): Pune police have arrested two history-sheeters who were forced externment from the city limits for the criminal activities. Weapons were seized from them during their search.
Police have identified the accused as Akash Thorat and Anil Saswe, both of whom had faced externment proceedings. They were arrested at two different place by the police during night patrolling.

Pune: In what seems to be the fallout of trouble between students and management at Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), the latter has asked the former to take their approval before screening movie at Classroom Theatre (CRT).

ONE DIED IN A ROAD ACCIDENT
Pune: One person was dead while five others were injured after a car in which the six persons were travelling fell in Bhatti Ghat in Velha Taluka on Thursday morning.
The six persons were working in a private company and stayed in Hadapsar. The deceased is been identified as Ajay Salve(42) and the injured as Mahesh Wakchaure(30), Arvind Patil(37), Nilesh Gholap(42), Pramod Ghadge(28) and Nitin Doke(28). A JEWELLERY STORE LOOTED BY THREE PERSONS IN PUNE
Pune – Three unidentified armed persons robbed an owner of a jewellery store of cash ,documents, ornaments worth Rs 64,
000 on Wednesday night in wakad. The complainant Pradeep Mehta owner of Punekar jewellers has lodged a complaint in this regard at Wakad police station.
According to information given by officials of wakad police station , at around 11.30 pm, Mehta was closing his shop when the incident took place.

ROBBERS LOOTING PASSENGERS ON EXPRESSWAY ARRESTED
Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): In a typical Bollywood-style investigation, Pune Rural Police station yesterday arrested a gang of robbers who were robbing people on Pune-Mumbai Expressway.
Seven people were arrested after they robbed a family on the expressway, which had stopped its car to freshen up. The police officials who swung into action swiftly managed to crack down on the entire gang of seven, which was habitually robbing people on this highway.

Pune: In a major move, the Anti Terrorism Squad of Maharashtra police has asked all the police commissionerates and units in Maharashtra have been asked to send monthly report about cases related to money laundering which will forward them to Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi.
In a circular issued by ATS chief , the details about the cases related to fake currency, sedition, explosives, narcotics, terrorism have been sought. RTO SPECIAL DRIVE FOR SCHOOL VEHICLES
Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): Pune Regional Transport office (RTO) conducted a special drive to inspect the fitness and legality of the vehicles that transport school children.
In the drive conducted by 11 team of officers from RTO, each consisting two members – 227 vehicles were inspected, of which 66 were found to be faulty in various regards.

THREE ARRESTED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING TRANSGENDER
Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): Three men have been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 19-year-old transgender after kidnapping him on the night of June 17 in Vadgaon Budruk on Sinhgad road. Cops are searching for the fourth accused in the case.

NCW IN PUNE ON JUNE 27,28
Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): Amidst piling complaints of women, the National Commission for Women (NCW) will visit Pune on June 27 and 28 to hear 107 complaints from the city.
The complaints include right to live with dignity, sexual harassment at work place, right to exercise choice in marriage, dowry and others.
Sources stated that the commission members will first meet the police investigators to find out the status of the complaints on June 27.

MAHA JAILS TO HAVE SURPRISE INSPECTION, UNIFORM RULE FOR LAWYERS NOW
Gunwanti Paraste (Pune): Maharashtra government has formed uniform rules for lawyers for meeting their client prisoners and also constituted a committee to inspect quality of food in the jail.
The directions have come after verdict from Bombay High Court to the petition by city based para-legal services and an inmate from Yerwada Jail.
The judgment was in response to separate writ petitions filed by Jan Adalat, a city-based centre of Para legal services and legal aid, and Ganesh Shankar Pawar, who was then an under-trial prisoner in Yerawada jail.
