PANAJI (GOA): Tanisha Crasto and Lydia Barreto of Goa clinched Under 15 Girls Doubles Silver medal at the All India Sub Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament, 2017, which concluded on August 30 at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Tanisha also emerged Bronze medal winner in the U-15 Girls singles category.
Meanwhile, in U-15 Girls Singles, Tanisha knocked out Kaivalya Lakshmi Yadavalli 24-22, 21-12 in the semis.

GOA: SIC DECLARES GOA TABLE TENNIS ASSOCIATION A PUBLIC AUTHORITY UNDER RTI ACT
PANAJI (Goa): The Goa State Information Commission (SIC) has held the Goa Table Tennis Association to be a ‘Public Authority’ under section 2(h) of the RTI Act. The Order was passed following a second appeal filed by appellant Sandeep Heble after information sought by him was denied to him by respondent Goa Table Tennis Association. GOA: 4TH RASIK PAINGUINKAR MEMORIAL BADMINTON; DOUBLE CROWNS FOR AASHRUN, TANISHA, ARJUN
FATORDA (GOA): Aashrun Gautam, Tanisha Crasto and Arjuna Fallary won double crowns each at the 4th Rasik Painguinkar Memorial All Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament organised by Rasik Memorial Trust in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association and SAG, at Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda. Aashrun eased to a 21-7, 21-11 win over Yash Kunkalienker to win the under 19 boys’ singles title. Later, Aashrun pairing up with Shubham Kumar in U-19 boys’ doubles were stretched to their limits before pulling off a 21-10, 17-21, 21-16 win over local favourites Yash Kunkalienker and Arjun Fallary.

GOA: STATE BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP; GOVIND, ANJANA WIN
PONDA (GOA): Govind Navelkar and Anjana Kumari claimed men’s and women’s singles titles while Tejan Fallary won a double crown at the State Badminton Championships that concluded on Sunday.
The championships were organised by Ponda Badminton Club in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association, DSYA and SAG, at Sports Complex, Ponda.
The Men’s singles final was evenly poised at 1 set a piece but Parteek Mahajan ran out of steam in the deciding set to concede the match to Goa’s veteran warhorse Govind Navelkar. Govind won 21-16, 21-23, 6-5 (Conceded).

MAPUSA (GOA): Rotary Club of Mapusa will be organising it’s 1st Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament in association with Goa Table Tennis Association from August 15 onwards at Pedem Indoor stadium, Mapusa.

PORVORIM (GOA): Officials of Goa Badminton Association met CM Manohar Parrikar at the Secretariat complex, Porvorim to brief him about the Sub-Junior All India Badminton Ranking Championship which is scheduled to be held from October 8 to 15, 2017 at Multipurpose Hall, Margao.
Parrikar was apprised of the few security issues which could arise as the championship clashes with the FIFA World Cup and the players who will converge from all parts of India could face difficulties during their participation, especially while travelling to the stadium when the World Cup games are held.
