Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday congratulated Prime Minister over Rajya Sabha passing a bill which provides constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes and said the step would go a long way towards upliftment of OBC in the country.
In a tweet, the Chief Minister said,”Congratulations to PM @narendramodi ji as Rajya Sabha passed a key bill yesterday that provides constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes.
This historic step would go a long way towards upliftment of the Other Backward Classes in the country.”
 
The Bill to grant constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) on Monday had got the nod from Parliament with the Rajya Sabha passing it unanimously with 156 MPs voting in favour and none against it.
